Art is Focus of Creve Coeur Task Force

A community panel has been working on an Art Master Plan for the city.

What is public art, and how should it be funded? These are two of the questions facing a Creve Coeur community panel whose goal is to develop a Public Art Master Plan for the city. Formed in August 2009, the nine-member Public Art Task Force also aims to identify existing public art in the city and heighten public awareness. The group has already identified 12 examples of public art in Creve Coeur, including Dancing Couple at an office park on Craig Road, Sea Chase at Fountain Park on Olive Boulevard, and General Pulaski in front of Pulaski Bank, also on Olive Boulevard. Right now the city's official definition of public art is "original quality works of art in any media for temporary or permanent placement in accessible public places." …
