Bob Forsch pitched for St. Louis for 15 seasons.
Bob Forsch, a mainstay of the St. Louis Cardinals pitching staff for 15 seasons and a member of the team's three World Series appearances in the 1980s, has died. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Forsch had an aneurysm and passed away Thursday near Tampa. Forsch lived in Creve Coeur during his playing days. His home in the Country Forest subdivision was across the street from former city councilman Robert Haddenhorst. Reached by phone Friday morning, Haddenhorst said he was "extremely sad" to learn the news, especially considering Forsch, a former athlete , was just a few years older. Haddenhorst recalled the day he and his family first looked at what would ultimately be their home in the neighborhood. Haddenhorst said he remembered …

Scott Saunders and Charlotte D'Alfonso won seats on council earlier this month.
A new-look Creve Coeur City Council was seated Monday night, following elections earlier this month. Ward 3 Councilwoman Charlotte D'Alfonso and Ward 4's Scott Saunders are the new faces to the council. Ward 1's Beth Kistner, Ward 2's Tara Nealey and Ward 3's Robert Hoffman all won re-election or ran unopposed April 5. A pre-meeting gathering at the Creve Coeur government center included cake for those who wanted it, and during the meeting, outgoing council members Robert Haddenhorst and Laura Bryant were given plaques honoring their service to the city. The new board heard an update on a project that dominated discussion by its predecessors--the Olive Blvd. Transportation Development District (TDD). City Administrator Mark Perkins said …

Brad Beal, Post-election impact and Passover are all part of what's ahead this week.
There's a lot to look forward to this week at Creve Coeur Patch. Our goal here is to peel back the curtain just a bit and to give you something of a roadmap. With last week's municipal elections now in the rear mirror, we'll be out covering new school boards in the Parkway and Pattonville school districts. The new board for Ladue schools could make a decision Monday about the direction the district will take with the Westminster Christian Academy campus in Creve Coeur. We'll have coverage of that decision Tuesday. Creve Coeur voters elected two new members to city council, but Charlotte D'Alfonso and Scott Saunders will not be sworn in until the next meeting in late April. Monday night will mark the final meeting for Robert Haddenhorst, …

Incumbent Robert Haddenhorst faces Charlotte D'Alfonso in the race for a two year term serving Ward Three
Voters in Creve Coeur's Third Ward have two races to consider April 5. Robert Hoffman is running to complete the one year unexpired term following his appointment last fall in the wake of David Kassander's resignation. He is not running for the two year term also on the ballot. In that race, incumbent Robert Haddenhorst, seeking a final term before term limits force him from office, faces Charlotte D'Alsfonso. D'Alfonso had popular support from residents to fill Kassander's seat but was not nominated for the position and therefore was not appointed. Creve Coeur Patch talked to both candidates about what they feel is the biggest issue facing their ward, along with the future of Transportation Development Districts and downtown development. …

Incumbents Nealey and Kistner file on last day for city council candidates to step forward.
The field of candidates for Creve Coeur City Council is all but set, as Tuesday's deadline to file for the April elections passed. The final day saw two incumbents, Ward One Councilwoman Beth Kistner, and Ward Two Councilwoman Tara Nealey, submit their paperwork seeking re-election, as expected. Kistner will face Tony Kardis, a former Ladue science teacher. She said she hasn't learned anything about her opponent besides what she's read in Creve Coeur Patch. "I just realized that I feel really committed to the residents of Ward one and want to continue serving the residents," Kistner said before leaving the Creve Coeur Government Center Tuesday. Nealey will have the honor of being the only incumbent to run unopposed in April. (Ward Three …
