Check out Parkway district's full-day, tuition-free classes for 5-year-olds.
The Parkway School District begins kindergarten registration for the 2012-13 school year on Tuesday, January 31. Parkway’s kindergarten program is a public full-day program for all children, no tuition. Students must be five years old before Aug. 1, to enter kindergarten. Registration is at local elementary Parkway District schools. Download registration forms. These forms and the documents described above need to be provided to the neighborhood school at the time of registration. For more information about Parkway kindergarten programs, call 314-415-8010. Tim Gannon said he's not sure what the next step is, but he's open to the possibilities.
On Friday, students will stream out of Parkway Central High School. They'll jump in cars or on buses, rowdy with excitement and thoughts of summer plans. They'll be back at the high school in a few short months. But one big thing will be different. Tim Gannon will no longer be the principal. For Gannon, Friday is less likely to be a day of excited celebration. He's confident his retirement, which was announced in February, is the right decision. But it's still hard to leave the place where, in many respects, he grew up. Gannon has been at the school since 1978. "I was going to be a lawyer," he said. He worked on former Gov. A decision on holding class on Monday to come Sunday.
Here is the statement released by the Pattonville School district in the wake of Friday's storm. "As you may have seen on the news, Friday's storms and possible tornadoes caused significant damage to neighborhoods in the Pattonville School District. We have assessed all of our buildings, and they appear to be in good shape, without any structural damage. Bridgeway suffered minor damage to the exterior, but again, there doesn't appear to be any structural damage. Power is sporadic throughout the district. The high school is being used as a staging area for emergency personnel. Any decision regarding whether school will be open on Monday will be made tomorrow.
