More Parkway Budget Cuts Coming, District Seeks Public Input

As the Parkway School District plans to make an additional $2 to $4 million in cuts, it's inviting the public to January budget meetings to offer input.

As previously reported by Patch, in February, the Parkway School Board voted to cut up to $9.63 million from the district's budget over the next two years. At the time, school officials blamed the depressed economy for lower revenue.   Earler this year, the district cut $8 million from the budget and then in June gave raises to all of its administrators and department heads, including all 70 employees making more than $100,000 a year.  According to the school district's website, more cuts are planned for the district and the public is invited to take part in the discussions.  Community members and parents can attend meetings in January to review a draft list of budget cuts. More cuts are necessary to balance future budgets and restore fund…
