More Parkway Budget Cuts Coming, District Seeks Public Input
As the Parkway School District plans to make an additional $2 to $4 million in cuts, it's inviting the public to January budget meetings to offer input.
As previously reported by Patch, in February, the Parkway School Board voted to cut up to $9.63 million from the district's budget over the next two years. At the time, school officials blamed the depressed economy for lower revenue. Earler this year, the district cut $8 million from the budget and then in June gave raises to all of its administrators and department heads, including all 70 employees making more than $100,000 a year. According to the school district's website, more cuts are planned for the district and the public is invited to take part in the discussions.
