Ladue School Board To Hear Request For Delay In Laptop Program

Monday night's Ladue School Board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the district's offices on Conway Road.

The Ladue School Board meets Monday night for the body's first open meeting since the announcement that Superintendent Dr. Marsha Chappelow would take an immediate leave of absence ahead of her departure from the district in June. Among the items on the agenda: A delay in the district's One-to-One Learning Initiative. Administrators are citing turnover in district leadership, as well as an incident at Ladue Middle School last month when a student used a distirct computer to access a chat room where inappropriate activity took place between the student and a man as reasons for putting brakes on the program. Maybe it's time to take a Missouri constitutional stand on all this Free or tuition Public school "offerings". Free is very clear. No public school system should be charging ANY TUITION for anything they offer. That would presumably cover any under 21 persons. That would also lead to the issue of our Public colleges.
