Friday Food Critic: Shogun Steak House & Sushi Bar

It's your community. You eat the food. You tell us if it passes the mark.

When it comes to restaurants, Creve Coeur, Frontenac, Ladue and Olivette have it covered.  We have some great local places that many would consider community gems. We have some restaurants that aren't exactly mom-and-pop, but are unique to the area, and we certainly—for better or for worse—have plenty of chains lining our main streets. But what we don't have is a consistent food critic to tell us what's good and what's not. That's where you come in. This week, we're reviewing Shogun Steak House & Sushi Bar. We could throw some money at a professional food critic, but that's not exactly what Patch is all about. We'd much rather know the opinion of the fine folks that eat there day-in and day-out. Rothman Mattress Store Celebrates Opening In Creve Coeur

Find out why one of the store's star attractions is the bathroom.

Rothman Mattress, the family-owned furniture retailer's first venture into a mattress-only sales atmosphere, held a ribbon cutting in Creve Coeur Thursday morning to show off the store. See more photos from Thursday's ribbon cutting. Housed in the former Lenny's Sub Shop space along Olive Boulevard, the store was a source of minor controversy when the owners disagreed with city planners over the kind of signage they could have at the site. The two sides ulitmately agreed that the store could have a total of 50 square feet in sign space, directly facing Olive Boulevard as well facing eastbound on Olive Boulevard. Jay Steinback, Rothman's owner said Thursday the signs weren't quite ready but would be 30 ft. and 20 ft. The store's bathroom …

Food=Delicious, fresh, incredible Service=Prompt, friendly Ambience=Not fancy, but very nice Prices=Reasonable Overall=Great experience, will definitely go back Only drawback=So full from dinner we did not have room for dessert...and their desserts looked amazing   more ›
