Students from Pattonville High are making plans to attend colleges around the country.
Four students from Pattonville High School signed letters of intent with universities on Feb. 1. Wilkins said Tennessee Martin made him feel wanted, as they were in constant communication with him. Kimberly Hulse said she fell in love with the Missouri Southern campus. Both she and Kacie hope to study nursing while at the school. Kristen Hanna also signed with Missouri Southern State in November.

Over the holiday break, the Ladue girls’ basketball team was a player short. Junior Lizzie Greenberg was vacationing in sunny Mexico with her family. Trip over, the 5-foot-10 forward has returned with determination and purpose. She played her heart out in a game the Rams eeked out over Parkway Central Tuesday night at home, 47-45. Greenberg led Ladue with 14 big points, most coming after the break. The game almost ended in a controversial dispute. With 1.3 left on the game clock, the referee under the basket handed the ball to Greenberg who dropped in the first of two free throws. We're hoping Mother Nature has better things in store for the Creve Coeur area than she did over the weekend. Not to worry, though, we'll still have your coverage. Also, several area golfers start day 1 of state championship play Monday. Tuesday, we'll be at the Drury Inn, when Rep. Todd Akin (R-Town and Country) announces what's next in his political future, as pieces start falling into place for the 2012 U.S. House and Senate campaigns. Wednesday, we'll introduce you to a Whiz Kid who is making a difference here in Creve Coeur and around the world, through the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
