Cancer Survivor, Marathoner Teri Griege to Appear on 'Today Show'

The Creve Coeur woman who has qualified for "ironman" competitions will tell her story to Hoda and Kathy Lee this morning.

She's survived marathons, the grueling Ironman World Championship—and stage 4 colon cancer. Teri Griege of Creve Coeur will now be telling some of her story on Thursday on The Today Show when she appears with hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford. The broadcast is scheduled to appear at about 11 a.m., according to Griege's website, where she says she's scheduled to discuss "colon cancer and Colon Cancer Awareness Month as well as her work with the Colon Cancer Alliance." The Today Show airs on KSDK-Ch. 5. Creve Coeur Patch told Griege's story in December 2011, describing how she had struggled in the Louisville Ironman competition in 2009, after which she learned she had colon cancer. 'Today Show' Talks Up Case Of Frustrated OB/GYN Who Vented On Facebook

The situation involving a Mercy doctor has gained worldwide attention.

The case of Dr. Amy Dunbar, an OB/GYN for Mercy who took to Facebook to voice her frustration with a patient who was late for appointments, is still gaining international attention almost two weeks after she posted comments about an expecting mother. The story was picked up by the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom and was also the subject of banter for NBC's Today Show Thursday morning. News anchor Natalie Morales suggested that the Facebook rant, which wondered aloud if Dunbar should show up late for delivery after the patient was 3 hours late for induction, was private and not intended for public view.
