Update: Jayson Tatum Is The Patch MVP For The Week Ending February 23

The Chaminade freshman was just named co-player of the year for the Metro Catholic Conference.

Updated Saturday 1:00 p.m. Chaminade College Prep's Jayson Tatum is your latest Patch MVP, according to you, the voters.  Tatum edged out fellow co-Metro Catholic Conference Player of the Year Jimmy Barton in voting that wrapped up Friday afternoon. Tatum went out and bolstered his team's bid for a state title by scoring 18 second half points en route to a district title win against Ladue Friday night. Chaminade's Tommy Barlow Named Missouri's Gatorade Soccer Player of The Year

The junior midfielder is the fourth Chaminade soccer player to be selected Gatorade's Player of the Year in Missouri.

The Gatorade Company is no stranger to the athletic program at Chaminade College Preparatory School, and today the school is back on the sports drink firm's radar. Midfielder Tommy Barlow was named Tuesday as the 2012-2013 Gatorade Missouri Boys Soccer Player of the Year. Barlow, a junior, scored 27 goals and had 17 assists this year. He was a key cog in the Red Devils' push to the state title match, where the team fell to CBC. Barlow becomes the fourth soccer player to earn Gatorade state honors, following Mike Roach, Tim Collico and Brad Davis, although he's the first junior at the school to win.
