Former Parkway Substitute Teacher Sentenced In Child Porn Case

Richard Ambler will serve prison time plus supervised release.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Missouri Tuesday announced that Richard Ambler, of Florissant, was sentenced to more than 12 years in federal prison for his role in transporting and receiving child pornography. Authorities say Ambler, who had been a substitute teacher in the Parkway School district at the middle school and high school level since 2009, was engaged in the activity between January and April of 2012 and entered guilty pleas to a pair of felony counts in September. At the time of his indictment, Parkway officials said he had been removed from the district's substitute roster. Following his release from federal prison Ambler will be on supervised release for the rest of his life.

Police responded to the Creve Coeur Racquet Club after pornography was found on a work computer.

Creve Coeur Police have forwarded their investigation into child pornography found on a computer at the Creve Coeur Racquet Club over to the U.S. Attorney's office. Police say they were alerted to the case January 18 when management at the club discovered it. The suspect, according to police, is an unidentified former male employee at the facility who is also under investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office. A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney was not immediately able to comment. A message was left for Creve Coeur Racquet Club management Monday afternoon.
