Rockhurst Defeats De Smet Jesuit in Coaches vs Cancer Shootout
First meeting of the cross-state rivals since the state tournament in 2000.
A nine point loss (75-66) was not quite what Kevin Poelker and his De Smet Jesuit Spartans had in mind, facing rival Rockhurst of Kansas City in the Coaches vs Cancer Shootout at the Scottrade Center today. The two schools last met in Columbia in the state semifinals with DeS met winning in double overtime 14 years ago. The State Line Road boys had other plans.
