Where has Mr. Fly overland been while I have made point after point including a complete set of 13 ways the golf course can be made to pay for itself?
I am pleased to learn that you really are a Creve Coeur resident and I invite you to come out behind your mask of anonimity and debate the merits of the Unlimited transfers of operating funds to the cip budget, the golf course deficit, the preferential treatment of stormwater repairs, the preferential trash service, the prior bias in street repairs, the missing opportunity of recycle revenues or any other city topic of your choice.
Until you are willing to come out of hiding, I have no intention of continuing to argue with a "Ghost". Because of your self-proclaimed infirmities, I will be happy to come to your front door with Patch as moderator and debate you.
    Until then,
I cannot consider you a worthy spokesperson for anyone but your own self interests.
    With kind regards,
    R. W. Kent

Unfotunately, Mr. fly overland is incorrect in his statement. The majority of the residences do not use valet service and and it is very expensive. It estimated that approximately $350,000 per year is paid to Allied for people who do not use it.
Creve Coeur has the second hghest cost for trash service, after Clayton Missouri.
This is an unfair burden on those raising children and trying to make it tough times. If he submits his opinion to the City,it would also be nice if Mr. Fly Overland would disclose his real identity so we could better understand that his comments are truly from a responsible Creve Coeur Citizen.
For all we know he is really Donna Dill!

    My last word:
There are about 196 countries in the world.
During my active 23 year international career I sought business in and visited some 125 Countries From Afghanistan to Vietnam. ( I passed on Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe)
I successfully negotiated significant contracts (Many with government departments, some at the highest levels) or established businesses with local partners in 75 Countries.
For one reason, or another we were unsuccesfful in the other fifty countries.
I can tell you one thing for sure, I neither succeeded or failed in the other seventy-one countries that I never visited on business.
You will never affect the Govenment Agenda if you fail to engage the Governemt, no matter the culture, language, history, government form, politics or religion.
Therefore, take advantage of every opportunity to negotiate your position.

I am an eternal optimist. While i was for the Strategic Plan, I was less than thrilled with the results and said so. The Glantz Administration is reaching out and I am willing to listen.
In the past I would loan money to some of my employees who came in with a good story. Not infrequently, I would not get paid back. "The Chairman" asked me why I kept doing this?
My response was, "That I would rather take a chance at helping someone, than become a total cynic." On several occasions, I think it did make a difference.
Nevertheless, that did not keep me from pricing out the stories, i.e that's a two dollar story or that's a five dollar story based upon the creativity of the need.and the articulation of the presentation.
We'll call this a $10.00 story and see if it lives up to its expectations; but you will never know if you don't attend,
    See ya' there

    Mr. flyoverland:
    God Bless and Good Luck!
My gratuitous advice is to call or email your Council Person and put forth your views in your strongest but respectful manner, since you can't attend personally.
You may also wish to discuss with Allied or Mr. Heines as to whether you may qualify for gratuitous recycle rear yard pick-up because of your infirmities.
Certainly, you should not only vote but encourage all your like minded (or not) to vote as the turnout at the recent Council Elections was only about 50% at most if I recall correctly. (which at my age, is problematical)

    Dear Mr.Flyoverland:
For your information, I am 83 next week, work out three to five days, a recovering heart attack patient with a stent and rolling the recycle bin is not that hard down my 150' of driveway.
I am however sympathetic to your infirmities and as I said those who need the rear yard service and are disabled should have it provided by the city at no charge.
Rather than wait for the next election, I hope you will avail yourself of the May 22nd meeting and make your points loud and clear to City Officials who will be making the decisions.
And, if you attend,I hope you will do me the honor of introducing yourself to me.
Thank you for the civil discourse.
    Regards,

    Gregg:
Please correct your story. You state that many fof the residents do not realize that rear yard"Valet" service is available to them at no cost. That is simply not true on two counts. First the city pays $16.62 for each of the 5020 houses per mont for rear yard pick up. Curb pick up per Mr. heines would cost $10.69 per house per month.
So the City is paying $5.93/month per house for 2977 houses that choose not to use rear yar pickup. That is $17,653.61 per month x 12 months or $211,843.32per year paid to Allied for "Phantom" pick-ups.
Anyway you slice it that is not FREE.
Please issue a correction and acurately report your story.
    Thank you

Donna Dill Works for Mark's Quik printing according to a spokesperson for MQP on a part-time basis strictly on political literature. Supporters of a candidate provide Ms. Dill with smear information which she then prepares, prints and distributes to the list of voters the candidates supporters designatge. Obviously, for a profit for MQP.
In this way, supporters of a candidate who wish to provide negative information on an opposing candidate and keep their hands "Clean" and remain anonymous use her and MQP as their vehicle.
As with the flyer on Creve Couer Cares 1/4 cent sales increase where she scared the public into passing the tax on the baisis you would lose your "Free" trash pick-up and the two letters on Ms. Bryant and Mr. Caldwell, the smear material is posted at the last minute for maximum impact and without time for the smeared to respond before the election takes place.
It has worked twice. As I write this the polls are still open. We will see if it works this time.
As far as I can tell, the perpetrators appear to be located East of I-270 but the proof of these anonymous Creve Coeur Concerned Citizens has not been identified to date.
Trust me, we are working on it, and if we can provide hard evidence we will expose them for what they are. Fortunately, they are not representative of the citizens I know and who work hard to improve our city.
Let us hope they are unsuccessful this time.

    Mr. Wasserman:
As you know, I regularly send out information to the trustees of all the subdivisions. I note your wife spoke against the Delmar Gardens proposal and is a trustee of Creve Coeur Place. Unfortunately, she does not list an email address.
If she will provide a email address, I will be happy to include you in our communications so hat you may advocate your position BEFORE the Council takes actions on which you are interested as your wife did on Delmar.
As part of the vocal minority, we believe democracy works best if all sides are heard from and we encourage you to review the Council Agenda so that you may be an effective voice.
Complaining after the fact doesn't provide much satisfaction.
I hope you will participate in the future.

The most important attribute for the next superintendent is the coiurage to stand up for principle and the truth. Let's hope the next one has the political courage to tell those sudents who participate in "Slam Week" that they will be expelled permanently and immediately. Let's also hope that some of those Ladue Lawyer fathers will make it clear that anything less will result in every legal and ethical action against the Ladue School Board that is appropriate. Hopefully, they will put their daughters before their business relations.
